About

I am currently using a Canon EOS Rebel SL1 digital camera with the “stock” Canon EF-M 18-55mm f3.5-5.6 Image Stabilization STM lens. Occasionally, I use a Canon 75-300 EF f4-5.6 zoom lens at home for close up shots of the moon or sunset but rarely take it on trips (too heavy). The Rebel series are very light weight, rugged, and easy to hike with. I often use a B&W circular polarized filter to darken the sky/control the glare off of water. Rarely use a tripod – too heavy to hike with.

All photos for the last couple of years are captured in camera raw and minimally processed with Photoshop before compressing to jpeg files.

Prior to September 2018, I was using a Canon EOS Rebel T1i digital camera. Prior to November 2010, I was using a Canon EOS Rebel XT and prior to May 2007, a 35mm film Canon Rebel 2000.  There are a few photos from other cameras, iPhone, etc. (you use what is available).
